About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead our Recruiting Engine Foundations and Domains team at Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for delivering robust feature sets, intuitive designs, and user interfaces that make it easy for Amazonians to excel at recruiting the top talent in the world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a strong team of engineers to innovate and deliver software that powers the world's largest cloud provider.
  • Work backwards from the customer to invent new solutions and to improve existing software.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and technical leaders to define the product direction.
  • Create vision and execution documents, ensuring high-quality technical documentation and software development.
  • Hire, coach, and promote software engineers to ensure the right talent is in place.
  • Ensure the right thing is being built and delivered to customers.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams.
  • 3+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems.
  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent.
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of software engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective.
