About the Role

We are seeking a part-time Geriatric Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team in providing consultation to patients and their families/caregivers, primary care physicians, and fellow healthcare professionals in acute inpatient, outpatient, and residential care settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and clinical expertise to the GEM team, a geriatric consultation-liaison program in acute care.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative Island-wide Tertiary Geriatric Psychiatry programs ensuring high-quality care.
  • Participate in clinical service, teaching, and ongoing program development as part of the Island-wide Dementia Strategy.
  • Join the NRGH General Psychiatry call rotation, requiring approximately a 1 in 11 commitment.

Requirements

  • Eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
  • Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Geriatric Psychiatry (mandatory).
  • Fellowship considered an asset, but not required.
