Job Summary

We are seeking a part-time Geriatric Psychiatrist to join our team at Island Health, providing consultation services to patients, families, and healthcare professionals in various settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and clinical expertise to the Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) team, a multidisciplinary consultation-liaison program in acute care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to complex patients, including those in acute and rehabilitation programs.
  • Participate in clinical service, teaching, and program development as part of the Island-wide Dementia Strategy.
  • Contribute to the NRGH General Psychiatry call rotation, with a commitment of approximately 1 in 11.
  • Engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching through the Island Medical Program.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
  • Membership in the Canadian Association of Geriatric Psychiatry (mandatory).
  • Fellowship is considered an asset, but not required.
