We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Planner to join our team at Dillon Consulting. Responsibilities- Manage and lead projects related to Environmental Assessment, environmental permitting and approvals, environmental management, and environmental compliance monitoring.
- Author EA reporting, including Environmental Study Reports, Transportation Environmental Study Reports, and Environmental Project Reports, and other environmental documentation to satisfy regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate alternative solutions to deliver projects and develop mitigation to avoid/offset negative environmental impacts.
- Develop and lead innovative public and agency engagement programs.
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams on exciting and challenging projects.
- Build client relationships through the identification of market opportunities, client communications, preparation of proposals, and business development activities.
- Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development.
- Provide input to the career development of less-experienced staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching, and mentoring.
- Contribute to Dillon's corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.
- A university degree or post-undergraduate college diploma in planning, environmental studies, biology, or a related field.
- 5+ years' experience, preferably in the consulting industry.
- Successful project delivery as an Environmental Planner, Project Manager, or Environmental Lead.
- Experience managing and delivering Class Environmental Assessments on behalf of municipalities or provincial agencies, such as MTO.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant municipal, provincial, and federal environmental legislation, regulations, policies, guidelines, and regulatory permitting and approval requirements.
- Experience in the design and delivery of stakeholder and Indigenous Community engagement programs.
- Experience in business development activities, including client development and responding to Request for Proposals.
- Environmental management during construction, including developing environmental management plans, on-site monitoring, and documentation.
- Professional designations such as Registered Professional Planner (RPP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) are considered to be an asset.
