Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring that food is prepared to the highest standards, and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
Main Responsibilities- Requisition food and kitchen supplies, estimating ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring quality control standards are met.
- Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, preparing and submitting reports as required.
- Establish work schedules and oversee the maintenance of equipment and facilities.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for assisting with the settlement needs of newcomers and refugees, including providing support with housing, transportation, storage, childcare, and winter clothing.
Support for Indigenous PeopleThis role involves offering mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, developing and maintaining relationships with indigenous communities, businesses, and organizations, and providing cultural competency training to all employees.
Work EnvironmentThis is a permanent position with a 30-40 hour workweek. The successful candidate must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Compensation and BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience. Other benefits include paid vacation time, sick leave, and health insurance.
