Job Summary

The Manager, Wellness & Ability Management is a key role in the development, implementation, and administration of policies and programs designed to improve overall employee and corporate wellness. This position provides expertise and leadership in managing programs related to health and wellness in the workplace, including occupational and non-occupational injury and illness management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive health promotion and wellness strategies, policies, and practices for the organization.
  • Manage employee wellness programs to ensure compliance with required legislation and leading practices.
  • Develop and administer mental health, substance use disorder treatment, and continuing care programs.
  • Manage health assessments and services, including coordination with external providers and contractors.
  • Communicate and educate employees on wellness issues and provide support and resources.
  • Consult with senior HR leadership and other senior leaders on wellness matters.
  • Provide advice on wellness matters at the senior management level and provide management information relative to employee wellness.
  • Analyze management data to identify trends in wellness benefit utilization and engagement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressively senior experience in ability management, wellness management, clinic rehabilitation in an industrial environment.
  • Experience supervising people and projects.
  • Interpersonal and relationship building skills with ability to lead and motivate people.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and the ability to operationalize those requirements.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to build a team.
  • Problem solving skills and analytical abilities.
  • Communication and organizational skills.
