About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Advisor to join our team at Nova Scotia Power. As a key member of our Communications team, you will play a critical role in executing our internal communications strategy to keep employees connected and informed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a robust internal communications plan to support our strategic direction and priorities
  • Shape and draft messaging for President & CEO and the Executive Leadership Team
  • Lead the Corporate Communications Assistant role and communications co-op students
  • Manage and update all content for internal communication channels
  • Evaluate the ongoing relevance and effectiveness of internal communications
  • Provide support for issues and crisis communication
Requirements
  • Experience in strategic internal communications, including leading, developing, and delivering on communications plans
  • Experience providing strategic communications advice to senior leaders
  • Exceptionally strong writing skills and ability to learn the voice and tone of subjects
  • Creative storyteller with a proactive approach to identifying and generating new ways to reach employees
  • Ability to translate complex organizational initiatives into digestible content
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in communications roles, including at least 3 years providing senior counsel and strategy development
