Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinician, Wound and Skin Care to join our team at Fraser Health. This is a unique opportunity to utilize your expertise in wound prevention and skin care management to provide resident-centered consultation and clinical expertise in Residential Care settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize evidence-informed practice and education theory to provide consultation and clinical expertise in wound prevention and skin care management.
  • Role model direct care skills to residential care staff based on application of theories, concepts, and principles.
  • Participate in direct care for residents as appropriate.
  • Consult with experts, collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary team, and provide information and educational activities to staff and/or residents and families.
  • Develop and implement education programs, orientation, and professional development programs to residential care staff and/or residents and families.
  • Perform advanced nursing skills in wound and skin care management.
  • Provide leadership and consultation to clinical staff and students to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate wound and skin care of residents.
  • Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities.
Requirements
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Completion of the International Interdisciplinary Wound Care Course (IIWCC) or Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse (WOCN) Course.
  • Three years' recent experience in Wound and Skin Care within a residential/geriatric care setting.
  • One year of education or leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
