Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clerk III Nutrition Services to join our team at Prairie Mountain Health. As a key member of our Nutrition Services department, you will provide administrative support and ensure the smooth operation of our food services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and document staffing requests for shift trades and leave.
  • Schedule Nutrition Services staff and maintain related records.
  • Process patient/resident diet orders and update computer/manual records.
  • Interact with patients/residents and family members to monitor satisfaction and intake, obtain food preferences, and complete malnutrition screening tools.
  • Review patient/resident weights and calculate weight changes for review by Registered Dietitian.
  • Check patient/resident meal trays for accuracy and quality.
  • Coordinate food, cleaning, and supply purchases for Nutrition Services sites.
  • Count food deliveries and collect money.
  • Complete invoice coding, documentation, and submission to region.
  • Initiate and document credit/replacement for missing or damaged supplies.
  • Complete annual food inventories and costing, catering costing, and monthly meal program invoicing.
  • Document meal statistics and submit to Finance.
  • Revise and distribute departmental production forms and meeting minutes.
  • Organize staff attendance at mandatory in-services and education events.
  • Update and maintain MSDS binders and perform ongoing record keeping and filing.
  • Complete maintenance work order requisitions and report departmental needs to Manager.
  • Perform on-call staffing relief duties and assume leadership role in coordinating Nutrition Services in Manager's absence.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 education (Manitoba Standards) or equivalent.
  • Completion of Dietary Aide Level 2, Diet Technician Course, Nutrition and Diet Therapy Course, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current Food Handler Training Certificate Level 1 or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
  • Experience working with Hospitality Suite software preferred.
  • Required proficiency in computing skills, including Microsoft Office programs and internet applications.
  • Good working knowledge of regular and therapeutic menus.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to work independently, and flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to display independent judgment, respect and promote a culturally diverse population, and maintain confidentiality.
