Senior Technical Program Manager, Amazon Shopping Videos
4 weeks ago
Amazon Shopping Videos is a strategic program at Amazon that introduces a new experience where customers can find product inspiration through video, learn more about products, and interact with creators and their communities. We're looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager who thrives in an ambiguous environment and delivers results with a customer-obsessed mindset. This role intersects engineering, product, marketing, senior leadership, and internal stakeholders, requiring strong technical expertise and strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will execute and deliver the Amazon Live program technical/engineering projects for retail shoppable video watching customers and creator/influencers producing high-value livestreams. Your technical expertise will lie in understanding the current architecture to deliver tactical results, contributing to the strategic technical vision, and advocating for bandwidth investments to innovate the product. You will also ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, accelerate launches into new marketplaces, and earn the trust of partners, stakeholders, and dependencies through data and aligned objectives. Additionally, you will inform leaders and stakeholders via bi-weekly program reviews, contribute to WBRs/MBRs/QBRs, and actively participate in OP1/OP2 planning. To ensure timely decision-making, you will advocate for the customer by dogfooding the experience and providing product feedback on how to evolve the product.
A Day in the Life
As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will assess risks during roadmap planning and weekly execution with PMs and SDMs, own reporting mechanisms, and contribute to org-wide MBRs, QBRs. You will participate in OP1 and OP2 discussions to gain context on business objectives and goals, own the goals update process for the team, and streamline existing reporting processes to remove duplication/waste in status reporting to senior leaders and stakeholders. You will also collaborate with SDMs and engineers to identify and mitigate risks/blockers to delivery and escalate in a timely manner as necessary. Finally, you will understand how external factors impact execution plans.
