About the Role:

Premierelv is seeking a qualified medical professional to fill an inpatient oncology unit position at Grand River Hospital. The successful candidate will be required to work flexible shifts, including evenings and nights.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Covering the inpatient ward and admissions from the Emergency Room
  • Answering phone calls and placing orders in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Evaluating acutely ill inpatients and admitting patients from the emergency room

Work Environment and Culture:

The inpatient ward consists of patients with hematologic and solid tumor malignancies. Most work can be done remotely, but accommodation in hospital is available for those within a 1-hour driving distance.

Support and Resources:

Backup is provided by staff oncologists via a second call system from the adjacent Grand River Regional Cancer Center.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • PGY 3/4/5+ or equivalent experience
  • Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
  • Eligibility for independent licensure in Ontario
  • Obtain and maintain privileges at Grand River Hospital

Compensation Package:

The remuneration package is highly competitive, offering an attractive salary range of $150-$200 per hour based on location and qualifications, making it ideal for extra income or as a career stepping stone.
