Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist with expertise in microbiology to perform a range of tests and procedures related to patient sample analysis under limited supervision. The successful candidate will have experience working with automated equipment and performing quality control procedures, as well as basic troubleshooting when necessary.
The ideal candidate will be able to prioritize work effectively, respond to urgent demands for STAT testing, and communicate complex information to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to participate in our department's Quality Assurance Program and accreditation compliance plans, ensuring that our laboratory practices meet the highest standards of excellence.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Certified Medical Laboratory Technologist (CMLTO) or Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) certification
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist, preferably in microbiology
- Proficiency in the use of Laboratory Information System using Cerner Millennium Microbiology module
- Strong understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
