Director of Sales & Key Accounts (Canada)

This role will lead the relationship and strategy development for Key Accounts and direct sales team for Canada, accountable for achieving business development and sales objectives in line with the company strategy for growth and customer relationship.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute market-specific business development and sales strategies to deliver commercial growth for Carbon Clean.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with internal stakeholders to implement strategies and achieve goals for the geography.
  • Focus on Canada:
    • Key Account Management: Implement key account management principles of Carbon Clean.
    • Customer Relationship: Build and maintain customer relationships and deep understanding of customers' organization, requirements, and process.
    • Customer Voice: Be the voice of the customer within Carbon Clean.
    • Market Intelligence: Track competition in the assigned region, collect market intelligence, and share with internal stakeholders.
    • Sales Targets: Achieve assigned targets for profitable sales volume, market share, and other key financial performance objectives.
    • Strategies: Develop go-to-market strategies and lead the direct sales team to implement them to achieve business objectives.
    • Clear Responsibility: Full responsibility for closing sales deals, short-term business development initiatives, and key strategic accounts.
    • Focus: Review and qualify the opportunity pipeline based on proven methodologies (like Sandler) and prioritize accounts and opportunities for pursuit.
    • Lead the Team: Guide and lead Sales Managers to implement sales prospecting strategy and develop territory plans.
    • Marketing: Effectively leverage company marketing initiatives and collateral (email campaigns, webinars, handouts, demos, and other material) and successfully engage new potential customers.
    • Collaboration: Work with the engineering team to develop technical and business requirements in alignment with qualified opportunities.
    • Hunger for Excellence: Provide inputs to continuously improve the process and operations of the functions.
    • Customer Focus: Guide the proposals team to develop detailed proposals that meet customer-specific requirements and are submitted timely.
    • Event Participation: Represent the company at various external forums and events as an ambassador of Carbon Clean and its core values.
    • Forecasts: Provide accurate monthly and quarterly commercial projections forecasts.
    • Data & Reporting: Ensure that Carbon Clean's CRM (i.e., HubSpot) is used efficiently by the team and kept up to date.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have a combination of the below knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Aptitude to develop strong relationships with customers and foster them through good and bad situations.
  • Customer-centric mindset to reach win-win solutions for customers and Carbon Clean.
  • Commercially driven and results-oriented with a high degree of enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Strong capability to understand the company's products and technologies and articulate the techno-commercial benefits and value proposition in alignment with customer needs.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking ability.
  • Significant and proven experience of scaling-up equipment sales business.
  • Knowledge and network within heavy industries, such as oil & gas, steel, cement, chemicals, engineering design, is highly desired.
  • Ability to lead teams through influence and expertise.
  • Experience of selling, shaping, negotiating, and closing large-scale deals.
  • Experienced in prospecting, negotiating, and closing enterprise sales.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills, organizational agility, and well-developed influencing skills.
  • Excellent leadership abilities to lead the team with potential to grow further into the company.
  • Commitment to achieving results with an innate ability not to give up.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic mindset.
