About the Role

Magnet Search Group Inc. is seeking a highly skilled National Account Manager to join our team and lead business development within the US Retail channel. This individual will have a hunter mindset and a track record of business development within the US Retail space.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new business opportunities with existing and new customers
  • Execute action plans to maintain core business and account development
  • Prepare annual business plans, including business strategies, account strategies, and action plans to grow business objectives
  • Build relationships with customers at all levels
  • Manage negotiations with customers regarding pricing, terms of sales, and promotions
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, including Marketing, Finance, R&D, and Operations, to address customer needs
  • Leverage the broker network and manufacturing partners as resources to drive success
  • Manage sales forecasts for assigned customers
  • Prepare and submit business analysis and business reports
  • Coordinate presentations, meetings, plant trials, plant tours, and sensory evaluation requests
  • Investigate and report on customer retail landscapes, including competitive activity
  • Participate and contribute to new development projects
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as required
  • Understand and comply with all company policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in account management for a North American packaged foods division, with at least 1-2 years of experience directly working on US accounts
  • Understanding of US retail landscapes and processes within key retailers
  • Established, positive relationships with key stakeholders at US retailers (particularly within Grocery, Club, and Mass channels)
  • Proven ability to influence customers
  • Analytical mindset with ability to simplify
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal)
  • Strong project management abilities
  • Time-management skills, including understanding priorities
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and virtual tools
  • Experience in entrepreneurial settings
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong team player and ability to multitask
  • Professional sales training - track record of positive performance
