Design Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Technologist to join our team at Tandem Networks Inc.
Job SummaryThe Design Technologist will be responsible for preparing engineering designs and drawings, reading blueprints to determine work requirements, and supervising other drafting personnel. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering design and drafting, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare engineering designs and drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Read blueprints and specifications to determine work requirements and ensure accuracy
- Supervise and train junior drafting personnel to ensure high-quality work
- Develop and prepare design sketches and presentations for clients and stakeholders
- Prepare construction specifications, costs, and material estimates for projects
- Write technical reports and specifications for clients and stakeholders
- Estimate costs and materials for projects
- Complete documentation packages and drawing sets for clients and stakeholders
- Examine drawings for conformity and errors, and make necessary corrections
- Consult with clients, engineers, and production specialists to establish product requirements and ensure client satisfaction
- College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
- Experience in engineering design and drafting is an asset
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools
- Relocation costs covered by employer
