Design Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Technologist to join our team at Tandem Networks Inc.
Job SummaryThe Design Technologist will be responsible for preparing engineering designs and drawings, reading blueprints to determine work requirements, and supervising other drafting personnel. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering design and drafting, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare engineering designs and drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Read blueprints and specifications to determine work requirements and ensure accuracy
- Supervise and train junior drafting personnel to ensure high-quality work
- Develop and prepare design sketches and presentations for clients and stakeholders
- Estimate costs and materials for projects and prepare construction specifications
- Prepare contracts and tenders, and write technical reports and specifications
- Examine drawings for conformity and errors, and consult with clients and engineers to resolve issues
- College diploma or certificate in a related field, such as engineering design or drafting
- 2+ years of experience in engineering design and drafting, with a strong background in CAD software
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex design problems and develop creative solutions
