Sessional Instructor: History of New Media Art, Faculty of Arts

OCAD University is seeking a qualified instructor to teach a course on the history of new media art in the Faculty of Arts & Science.
Course DetailsThis course will explore the relationship between art and media from the early days of photography and avant-garde cinema to contemporary digital and video art practices. Students will examine the technological developments that have impacted and transformed perception and representation, including time-motion studies, industrialization, mass culture, and global electronic networks.
Responsibilities- Develop and deliver course materials, including lectures, critiques, and grading
- Meet academic and curricular requirements and deadlines
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Terminal degree in art, design, or relevant discipline
- Experience teaching at the post-secondary level
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and experience promoting a respectful and inclusive work and learning environment
Sessional appointments are fixed-term annual contracts. Compensation includes a per-course pay scale with salary level of $6,871.00 (per 0.5 credit course) plus 7% in lieu of benefits and vacation pay.
