Sessional Instructor: History of Political Thought, Faculty of Arts

OCAD University invites applications for a Sessional Instructor position in the Faculty of Arts & Science. The successful candidate will teach the course HUMN-2003: History of Political Thought, which introduces students to issues and debates in political thought, with a special emphasis on the concepts and theoretical arguments that give shape to Canadian politics, both historically and in our contemporary moment.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver course outlines, lectures, critiques, and evaluations
• Foster a respectful and inclusive learning environment
• Meet academic and curricular requirements and deadlines
Qualifications:
• Terminal degree in art, design, or relevant discipline
• Experience teaching at the post-secondary level
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership and experience promoting a respectful and inclusive work and learning environment
Terms of Employment:
Sessional appointments are fixed-term annual contracts. Sessional compensation includes a per-course pay scale with salary level of $6,871.00 (per 0.5 credit course) plus 7% in lieu of benefits and vacation pay, per the provisions of the Employment Standards Act. These positions are subject to budgetary approval and satisfactory enrolment levels.
