Payroll and Benefits Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll and Benefits Operations Manager to join our People and Culture department at Servus Credit Union.

**Job Summary**
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the payroll and benefits operations function, ensuring timely and accurate processing and disbursements of funds. This role requires strong leadership skills, a proven track record of improving business processes, and the ability to work collaboratively with employees at all levels in the organization.
**Key Responsibilities**
• Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accurate data entry and maintaining effective controls
• Act as the technical expert on payroll legislation, financial analysis, and internal controls, and monitor and communicate changes to payroll legislation
• Lead and manage the benefits team, ensuring that team members are equipped to handle inquiries, resolve issues, and continuously develop their expertise in benefits administration
• Liaise with third-party vendors (insurance providers, retirement plan administrators) to manage relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure service delivery
• Collaborate with the Total Rewards team to evaluate and update benefits offerings to ensure competitiveness in the market
• Develop, implement, and evaluate continuous improvement strategies relating to payroll and benefit administration
• Deliver excellent customer service by providing timely and respectful responses, sound advice, and clarity for more complex payroll and benefit enquires
• Oversee the daily operations of payroll and benefit staff: direct, train, & coordinate staff, participate in the hiring and selection of candidates for employment
**Requirements**
• Minimum 5 to 10 years' experience in payroll and benefit processing, with management or supervisory experience
• PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation through the National Payroll Institute, or working towards completion
• GBA (Group Benefit Associate) or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) designation through the IFEBP or working towards completion
• Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Payroll and Benefits Administration, or a related field
