Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Plumber to join our team at Johnson Electric. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing equipment in our industrial structure.

Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in an industrial setting.
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
  • Measure, cut, bend, and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machines.
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
  • Perform regular inspections of pipes and plumbing fixtures.
  • Keep accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed, and materials used.
  • Keep accurate inventory of required materials, ensuring stock of required material when needed.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with the intricacies of working with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematics and measurement conversion.
  • Ensure that local and provincial safety regulations are met.
  • Ensure that the requirements of the Quality Management System and Environmental Health and Safety Systems are met.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of apprentice program with five years' experience.
  • Licensed plumber.
  • Ability to work indoors in a noisy environment with varying temperatures.
  • Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks, such as heavy lifting, climbing ladders, crawling, etc.
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 50lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods at a time.
  • Able to work overtime when required/requested.
  • Proficient in English (both spoken and written).
  • Proficient in Math.
