Johnson Electric is seeking a skilled Senior Plumber to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing equipment in our industrial facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in industrial settings.
- Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
- Measure, cut, bend, and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machines.
- Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
- Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
- Perform regular inspections of pipes and plumbing fixtures.
- Keep accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed, and materials used.
- Keep accurate inventory of required materials, ensuring stock of required material when needed.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with the intricacies of working with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper.
- Proficiency in basic mathematics and measurement conversion.
- Ensure that local and provincial safety regulations are met.
- Ensure that the requirements of the Quality Management System and Environmental Health and Safety Systems are met.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of apprentice program with five years' experience.
- Licensed plumber.
- Ability to work indoors in a noisy environment with varying temperatures.
- Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks, such as heavy lifting, climbing ladders, crawling, etc.
- Ability to lift a maximum of 50lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods at a time.
- Able to work overtime when required/requested.
- Proficient in English (both spoken and written).
- Proficient in Math.
