Senior Settlement Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Settlement Operations Specialist to join our team. As a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) Rules 021 and 004.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide guidance and act as a subject matter expert on Alberta settlement transactions.
- Maintain a current knowledge of settlement activities and industry developments.
- Provide training on settlement operations to team members and external clients.
- Perform settlement functions across a suite of multi-jurisdictional clients.
- Perform reconciliations to ensure all settlement and billing transactions have been invoiced as expected.
- Monitor market transactions and complete root cause analysis for transaction failures.
- Review transactional discrepancies and problem solve complex and unexpected issues.
- Reporting and troubleshooting system issues.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement changes.
- Review settlement processes and supply evidence to external auditors.
- Evaluate and respond to internal and external client requests.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Settlement Analyst within the Alberta Electricity Market.
- Proven experience in quantitative analysis and working with complex data sets.
- Quick learning ability and adaptability to thrive in dynamic environments.
- Strong technical aptitude with hands-on experience in MS Excel, MS Access, and SQL.
- Demonstrated analytical skills with an unwavering attention to detail.
- Strategic thinker capable of conducting thorough analysis, research, and developing actionable strategies for problem resolution and process improvement.
- Self-motivated with the ability to set priorities, work autonomously, and achieve objectives without direct supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional communication abilities.
- A proactive and optimistic approach with a 'can do' attitude.
- Outstanding customer service skills, ensuring client satisfaction and service excellence.
