Producer - CityNews Toronto

We are seeking a talented Producer to join our dynamic team at Rogers Sports & Media. As a key member of our news operation, you will play a crucial role in shaping the CityNews brand and creating engaging content for our audiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the creation of original and breaking news content for our streaming channels, daily news programs, and digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with the assignment desk, reporters, production team, and national producers to determine story coverage plans.
  • Ensure our stories adhere to the Rogers News Policy and follow the principles laid out in our Inclusive Content Guide.
  • Have final editorial sign-off before a story is published.
Requirements:
  • An insatiable curiosity and a passion for local live and breaking news.
  • A vision of where legacy newsrooms need to evolve in order to compete in the digital space.
  • Flexibility to work regular evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Patience and a willingness to explore new ways of producing news.
