We're seeking a skilled News Producer to join our dynamic team at Rogers Sports & Media. As a key member of our news operation, you'll play a crucial role in shaping and strengthening the CityNews brand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the creation of original and breaking news content for our streaming channels, daily news programs, and digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with the assignment desk, reporters, production team, and national producers to determine story coverage plans.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot technical issues on the fly, ensuring a seamless viewing experience for our audience.
  • Ensure our stories adhere to the Rogers News Policy and follow the principles outlined in our Inclusive Content Guide.

Requirements:

  • An insatiable curiosity and a passion for local live and breaking news.
  • Strong editorial judgment and the ability to grow professionally in a fast-paced newsroom.
  • Flexibility to work regular evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A willingness to explore new ways of producing news and a vision for where legacy newsrooms need to evolve.
