Job Summary:
This position is responsible for repairing fiberglass parts in the Paint Shop, adhering to company procedures and ensuring high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair fiberglass, blisters, crackers, and low spots using power tools to drill, cut out, and smooth defective areas.
- Repair any structural damage to the bus.
- Cut and fit fiberglass patches and fill holes with plastic fillers.
- Mix resins or plastic plant with catalyst and spray repaired surfaces.
- Buff surfaces to provide a lustrous finish using buffing compound and a portable buffer.
- Responsible for completing tasks to ensure performance targets are met.
- Maintain accurate information flow to support first-time quality initiatives.
- Adhere to safety procedures as they apply to all equipment used in this position.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with fiberglass is required.
- Possess a strong understanding of the painting process and practices, with the ability to read blueprints and/or process sheets.
- Have great interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to perform required duties with minimal supervision.
- Operate equipment and power/hand tools required in this position.
