Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Materials: Obtain and prepare materials and molds for production, ensuring that all necessary components are available and in good condition.
  • Buff and Sand: Use orbital sanders to buff and sand fiberglass parts, achieving a smooth finish that meets our quality standards.
  • Follow Safety Procedures: Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work effectively with your colleagues to meet production goals and deadlines, sharing knowledge and expertise to achieve common objectives.
  • Inspect Parts: Conduct thorough inspections of parts to identify any issues or defects, using rulers and visual checks to ensure quality.
  • Repair Fiberglass Composite: Perform structural repairs to fiberglass components, using your skills and knowledge to restore parts to their original condition.
  • Operate Tools: Safely operate and maintain tools such as spray guns, drills, sanders, and polishers, ensuring that they are in good working order and used correctly.
  • Support Lean Initiatives: Contribute to our Lean and 5S initiatives, helping to maintain a clean and efficient workspace that supports our production goals.
  • Document Non-Conformities: Document any non-conformities or issues on a Corrective and Preventive Action Report, submitting the form to authorized personnel for review and action.
  • Perform Related Duties: Perform other related duties as required or assigned, contributing to the success of our production team.

Requirements:

  • Composite Manufacturing Experience: Prior experience in composite manufacturing is preferred but not required.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, sharing knowledge and expertise to achieve common objectives.
  • Tool Proficiency: Experience with pneumatic, electric, and manual hand tools, including orbital sanders and spray guns.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to handle heavy loads (minimum of 50 lbs), including lifting, pushing, and pulling, and to stand for long hours.
  • Manual Dexterity: Skilled with hands-on tasks, including buffing, sanding, and repairing fiberglass components.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving: Strong skills in both areas, including the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and resolve problems in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Independence: Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision, taking initiative to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Tech-Savvy: Basic computer skills, including the ability to use software and systems to support production goals.
  • Eager to Learn: Willingness to learn and develop new skills, contributing to the success of our production team.
