Grower 2 Position

About the Role:
PRT Growing Services Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the Grower 2 position in our Campbell River nursery. As a key member of our team, you will assist with the production of high-quality forest seedling crops by applying effective forest nursery practices and principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the production of forest seedling crops
- Apply effective forest nursery practices and principles
- Operate computerized and other control systems
- Maintain, repair, and upgrade nursery facilities and equipment
- Follow a company-directed Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program for pesticide application
- Promote collaboration and teamwork at all levels
- Set targets and evaluate achievement
About the Team:
You will work alongside other nursery workers under the supervision of the Nursery Lead and report to the Nursery Manager. We strive to be a supportive team-structured environment with a strong safety culture and a commitment to the environment.
Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
- Knowledge of greenhouse equipment and climate control systems
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently
- Strong and professional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Great organizational and record-keeping skills
- Ability to provide basic maintenance of facilities and equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pesticide Applicator Certificate
- A degree in a related field or related work experience
- Relevant forest seedling nursery experience
