Foster Family Support Specialist

Campbell River Family Services Society is seeking a skilled Resource Enhancement Counsellor to provide support services to approved MCFD caregivers.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will provide educational, consultative, and child and youth behaviour strategies to foster parents involved in providing residential care to children and youth in their homes.
Responsibilities- Provide support services to approved MCFD caregivers;
- Develop and implement educational programs for foster families;
- Conduct home visits and assessments to ensure the well-being of children and youth in care;
- Collaborate with community agencies and professionals to provide comprehensive support to foster families;
- Participate in case conferences and team meetings to discuss client needs and develop plans for service delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in a related human/social service field;
- Two years recent related experience;
- Union membership;
- Completion of a criminal record check;
- Valid driver's license and purchase of business insurance as per Society policy;
- Vehicle for the performance of duties.
This part-time position requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. The successful candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
CompensationThe salary for this position is estimated to be between $38.68 and $48.88 per hour, based on the number of hours worked. Positions are subject to wage grid levels, beginning at Step 1 and increasing to Steps 2 through 4 based on the number of hours worked.
