GJE Transport and General Services Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Custodian to join our team.
Job Summary:The Head Custodian will be responsible for overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our employees and clients. This is a key role that requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and Co-ordinate Activities: Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of cleaning staff, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Inspect Sites or Facilities: Inspect sites or facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness standards are met.
- Prepare Budget and Cost Estimates: Prepare budget and cost estimates for cleaning and maintenance services.
- Recommend Additional Services: Recommend or arrange for additional services required, such as painting, repair work, renovations, or replacement of furnishings and equipment.
- Maintain Financial Records: Maintain accurate financial records, including receipts and invoices.
- Assist Cleaners: Assist cleaners in performing duties, as needed.
- Co-ordinate Work Activities: Co-ordinate work activities with other departments, as required.
- Establish Work Schedules: Establish work schedules for cleaning staff, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient use of resources.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Certifications: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
- Security and Safety: Criminal record check.
The Head Custodian will work in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks. The role requires standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads. The successful candidate must be physically demanding and able to work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
