GJE Transport and General Services Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Custodian to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hire and Train Staff: Supervise and coordinate the activities of cleaning staff, ensuring they have the necessary training and equipment to perform their duties effectively.
  • Inspect and Maintain Facilities: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards, and recommend improvements as needed.
  • Prepare Budgets and Estimates: Develop and manage budgets for cleaning services, including cost estimates and financial record-keeping.
  • Coordinate Services: Arrange for additional services such as painting, repair work, and equipment replacement as required.
  • Supervise and Assist: Supervise specialized cleaners and assist in performing duties as needed.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Certifications: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Security and Safety: Criminal record check.
Work Environment:

This is a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and perform repetitive tasks. The successful candidate will be physically demanding and require the ability to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and wear safety equipment.
