We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Custodian to join our team at GJE Transport and General Services Ltd.

Job Summary:

The Head Custodian will be responsible for overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our employees and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and Coordinate Cleaning Staff: Hire, train, and supervise a team of cleaning staff to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Inspect and Maintain Facilities: Conduct regular inspections of our facilities to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary repairs and maintenance.
  • Prepare Budgets and Cost Estimates: Develop and manage budgets and cost estimates for cleaning and maintenance services.
  • Recommend Additional Services: Identify and recommend additional services required to maintain our facilities, such as painting, repair work, or replacement of furnishings and equipment.
  • Maintain Financial Records: Ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records for cleaning and maintenance services.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Certifications: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Security and Safety: Criminal record check.
Work Environment:

The Head Custodian will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and will be required to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and work in a physically demanding environment.

  • Efficient Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively supervise and coordinate cleaning staff.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
