Job Summary

The Lead Hand will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the Wajax service shop, working closely with the shop service manager and administrative staff to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily running of the shop, maintaining a consistent workflow and ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Provide guidance and support to technicians and apprentices, assisting with troubleshooting and ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to complete their tasks.
  • Help train apprentices in proper work procedures and ensure they are meeting quality standards.
  • Verify the quality of completed projects and ensure they meet Wajax's high standards.
  • Foster a safe working environment, promoting health and safety awareness and ensuring all employees are following proper protocols.
  • Ensure technicians are wearing and using the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and that all safety regulations are being followed.
  • Perform regular equipment and facility maintenance and inspections to ensure the shop is running efficiently and safely.
  • Assist technicians with diagnosis, job procedures, and requirements, providing direction and guidance as needed.
  • Provide regular updates to the shop service manager and assist with data collection for warranty recovery.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of experience in construction equipment repairs.
  • Journeyman HET or equivalent experience.
