A.P.E maintenance ltd is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanical Lead to oversee shop duties and field calls. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading, coordinating, and prioritizing work across multiple areas to ensure project goals are met.

We are a fast-paced company experiencing growth, and we are excited to have you grow with us. Our shop facility performs maintenance on Cat D 6 to 10 series, multiple graders 16 to 24's rock trucks, and offers truck & trailer CVIP inspection and repair.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate work across multiple areas to meet project goals
  • Read diagrams/schematics and manufacturers repair manuals for work procedures
  • Operate a hoist and lift device to position machinery parts safely
  • Lubricate, service, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain vehicles and equipment
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic troubles
  • Make repairs according to manufacturer specifications
  • Suggest positive changes to policy and procedures as needed
  • Provide training, mentorship, and support for apprentices as required

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Journeyman Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate as Heavy-Duty Technician or an Alberta Journeyman
  • Minimum of 5 years experience
  • Valid First Aid certificate
  • Able to dismantle and reassemble equipment using hoists and hand tools
  • Knowledge and experience operating all equipment for positioning and diagnosing purposes
  • Welding experience is an asset
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
  • Good organizational and leadership skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work alone and get along well with others on a work team
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • CSTS/OSSA Regional Orientation or BSO or CSO
  • COVID Certification

  • Location: In-town job
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day, OT available
