Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Dental Assisting Program Instructor to join our team at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and assessment in our Dental Assisting program.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive curriculum for the Dental Assisting program, incorporating current dental assisting principles, procedures, and techniques.
- Provide didactic and clinical instruction, as well as supervise and evaluate students in clinical settings.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of adult education principles and best practices.
- Develop and maintain course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments.
- Conduct program administration tasks, as required, to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
- Provide dental assisting services, as needed, to support the program.
- Collaborate with the Dental Hygiene Program to provide instructional support, as required.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
- Master's degree in a related field (e.g., dental education, education, or a related field).
- Eligibility for registration and licensure as a dental assistant in Saskatchewan.
- Minimum of two years of recent and relevant dental assisting experience in a dental office, utilizing current dental assisting principles, procedures, and techniques.
- Effective communication, instructional, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
- Competence in the use of technology, including the internet, email, and MS Office Suite software.
