Dental Assisting Instructor

Job Summary
Saskatchewan Polytechnic is seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Casual Instructor in our Dental Assisting program. As a Casual Instructor, you will be responsible for providing didactic and clinical instruction and assessment of performance in the program.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver lectures, seminars, and/or labs to students in the Dental Assisting program
- Supervise and evaluate students in clinical settings
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of current dental assisting principles, procedures, and techniques, as well as adult education principles
- Develop and maintain course curriculum
- Conduct various aspects of program administration as required
- Provide dental assisting services as required
- Provide instructional support to the Dental Hygiene Program when required
- Graduate of a Dental Assisting program
- Eligible for registration and licensure as a dental assistant in Saskatchewan
- Related baccalaureate degree (or working toward completion of a related degree)
- Training in educational theory and methodology
- Minimum of two years recent and relevant dental assisting experience in a dental office utilizing current dental assisting principles, procedures, and techniques
- Effective communication skills
- Effective instructional ability
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated valuing diversity
- Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment
- Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software, and ability to learn and adapt to changing technology
