About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our team at Homewood Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals struggling with complex mental health and addiction issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to inform treatment planning and guide clinical decision-making.
  • Provide individual and group psychotherapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing.
  • Develop and implement discharge plans, ensuring seamless transitions to community resources and support services.
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical teams to monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and facilitate communication with referral sources.
  • Lead team meetings and provide service leadership, establishing treatment goals and action steps to meet these objectives.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records, adhering to Homewood Health Centre and governing College policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a recognized Social Science program with addiction-specific education.
  • Membership in good standing with the relevant regulatory college/governing body in Ontario or pursuit of relevant credential (OCSWSSW, COTO, CNO, or registration as a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists).
  • Competency in providing CBT, DBT, and other evidence-based approaches for treating complex mental health conditions and substance use disorders.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in assessment and treatment, using evidence-based practice.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate and lead an interdisciplinary team.
  • Awareness and acknowledgement of the value of using measurement-based care to guide clinical decision-making.
  • Valid Ontario driver's license and access to own vehicle where required.
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act, PHIPA, Ontarians with Disabilities Act 2005, and Health Care Consent Act.
