Claims Representative

At Definity, we're seeking a skilled Representative, Claims to join our team. As a key member of our claims department, you'll play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring timely resolution of automobile claims.
Key Responsibilities:- Investigate and settle first-party automobile claims in a fair and accurate manner.
- Provide prompt, courteous, and professional service to customers, both internal and external.
- Manage auto telephone claims until they are resolved, ensuring seamless communication with customers and vendors.
- Explain the claim process to customers in a clear and concise manner, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Verify coverage under customers' policies and ensure all claims are promptly investigated.
- Maintain detailed file records, entering pertinent data into our systems to ensure accurate tracking and resolution.
- Process claims payments within your authority level, ensuring timely and efficient resolution.
- Initiate salvage and subrogation procedures on assigned claims, working closely with customers and vendors to achieve the best possible outcome.
- Achieve the targeted number of assigned claims per year, while upholding our core values and meeting competencies.
- Maintain a file disposition rate of 100% on a monthly basis, ensuring all claims are resolved efficiently and effectively.
- Minimum high school diploma required.
- Experience handling automobile claims, with a good understanding of terminology and auto policies.
- Previous customer service and call centre experience is a definite asset.
- Excellent keyboarding skills and ability to navigate through numerous screens and systems quickly and easily.
- Professional, friendly, and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers.
- Able to thrive under pressure and remain calm, even in challenging situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingualism is considered an asset.

Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may participate in various incentive plans which are paid out at the discretion of the company and subject to individual and company performance.
