Medavie Blue Cross: Medical Consultant Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medical Consultant to join our Medicare Programs Team on a part-time basis. As a Medical Consultant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the post-payment monitoring function and providing medical expertise to key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Support a team of Medicare Auditors in conducting billing audits and evaluating alternative funding contracts.
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures related to MSI Monitoring.
  • Communicate with providers, residents, government agencies, and other stakeholders regarding audit results and provide feedback and guidance as needed.
  • Develop and deliver education to physicians on NS fee codes and guidelines.
Requirements:
  • University degree with a Doctor of Medicine and active medical license in good standing.
  • 10-15 years' experience as a physician in various practice settings.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
Competencies:
  • Knowledge: Utilize industry best practices to provide guidance and advice on key issues.
  • Analytical Thinking: Solve routine and complex technical problems using knowledge and experience.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate complex information through oral and written means.

This is a part-time external consultant position with competitive compensation.
