Job Title: Forensic Nurse Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Nurse Specialist to join our team at Health Careers in Sask. As a Forensic Nurse Specialist, you will work with patients presenting with complex traumatic events, including sexual assault and domestic violence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive medical legal examinations
  • Provide patient treatment/care to adolescent and adult survivors of sexual assault and interpersonal and domestic violence
  • Plan, develop, and implement follow-up care for all survivors

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience, including 1 year of Emergency experience within the last 3 years
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)
  • Adult SANE training accredited by Inter'l Assoc of Forensic Examiners

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (PALS)
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificate (ACLS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
