As a Medical Laboratory Assistant at OSMH, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care by collecting specimens and performing ECGs and special tests. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic laboratory environment and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collecting specimens through phlebotomy and micro-sample techniques
  • Performing and explaining procedures for ECGs and special tests
  • Working in a rotating schedule to include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays

Qualifications:

  • Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of Laboratory Assistant Training Program
  • Certification with Ontario Society of Medical Technologists (OSMT), MLPAO, or Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS)
  • Minimum two (2) years technical training/experience in a laboratory setting, hospital laboratory preferred
