About the Role

The Swim Instructor/Lifeguard plays a vital role in providing high-quality leisure programs and ensuring the safety of our military members and their families at Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver swimming lessons to participants of all ages and skill levels.
  • Supervise pool activities and enforce safety rules to prevent accidents and ensure a safe environment.
  • Teach participants how to swim and design activities for specific groups, such as seniors or children.
  • Motivate students and help them reach their full potential.
  • Expand skills and share passions to improve the quality of life for our military members.
Requirements
  • Current National Lifeguard Service (NLS) certification.
  • Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification.
  • Current recognized Swim Instructor certification.
  • HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport (successful completion by end of probation).
  • HIGH FIVE Healthy Minds for Healthy Children (successful completion by end of probation).
  • Experience in dealing with the public, including children.
  • Experience in performing lifeguard duties.
  • Experience in implementing training and practice sessions.
  • Experience in cash handling.

  • Ability to react and respond in emergency situations.
  • Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork, and leadership.
Language Requirements

French is essential for this role.
