Job Summary

GFL Environmental is seeking a skilled Shop Foreman to oversee and assist with the day-to-day maintenance and repair of our diverse fleet. The successful candidate will work closely with our Fleet Maintenance team to ensure the efficient operation of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assign tasks and duties to maintenance staff to ensure timely completion of work orders and production deliverables.
  • Oversee the completion of repairs on all mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, drivelines, brake systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Participate in our safety program and ensure compliance with all GFL and Fleet Maintenance safety standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in training employees and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Collaborate with the team to establish time standards and productivity standards.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of our fleet-based maintenance program.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Heavy Duty Certification.
  • Experience with the CVIP Motor Vehicle Inspection Program.
  • CVIP certification preferred but not required.
  • Insite/JPRO experience preferred.
  • Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving abstract required, 1A or 3A Driver's License preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities on a wide range of machinery and equipment.
  • Strong computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft software, and ability to adapt to new software programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, management priorities, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.
  • Possess own hand tools.
