Job Title: Level Designer

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Level Designer to join our team at Accoravillage. As a Level Designer, you will be responsible for creating engaging and immersive game environments that bring our game to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create state-of-the-art levels that focus on innovative gameplay, accessibility, pacing, and strong atmosphere.
  • Work closely with the Level Design team and Level Artists to create top-quality levels using available tools.
  • Design levels in collaboration with Level Artists, following design and technical guidelines.
  • Develop 3D playgrounds and levels, integrate actors and scripted events, and balance gameplay.
  • Contribute to the development of various features and mechanics during the project.
  • Collaborate with the Game Design team, Game Director, and Lead Level Designer to achieve desired emotions and player experience.
  • Write level design documents for use by other Level Designers.
  • Provide support to less experienced level designers.

Requirements:

  • University or college diploma in game design or equivalent training.
  • +3 years of experience in the video game industry as a Level Designer.
  • Minimum of 1 published title as a Level Designer.
  • Good knowledge of systemic design.
  • Good knowledge of game level architecture and 3D environments.
  • Experience using industry-standard level editing tools, editors, and pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Unreal 4 or 5 engine.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to exemplify one's own ideas.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with level design layouts for complex combat encounters or layout design for third-person platforming/parkour traversals.
  • Good knowledge of scripting.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Excellent capability to give and receive advice.
  • Skills in leadership, proactivity, and continuous commitment to work with different departments.
  • Ability to work in a team focused on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to learn and share personal knowledge.
  • Maturity to give and receive constructive criticism.
