At T-Net British Columbia, we're seeking a talented Senior Data Scientist to join our team. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for building artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions for our customers. Our solutions are developed by small, focused agile teams of data scientists and developers. You will be applying a wide variety of models to very large electronic communication archives in order to classify and understand communication content. You'll have the opportunity to work in machine translation, transcription, natural language processing, LLMs (large language models), and/or generative AI. You also get to tackle interesting and engaging problems related to scalability and high availability in big data environments.

This is an opportunity to work alongside some of the best data scientists in Vancouver and apply your craft in an environment that encourages creative thinking and collaboration. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be working closely with other data scientists and developers in building and deploying various machine learning models. You will execute all steps in the data science process from understanding business requirements to deploying models. You will take initiative to identify and solve important problems, coordinating with others on cross-cutting technical issues. You will participate in design review, code review, sprint planning, and other Agile artifacts. You will collaborate with Product Management on user story generation and refinement. You will contribute to knowledge sharing activities with colleagues. You will mentor junior and intermediate data scientists via pairing and reviews. You will instill a spirit of continuous improvement in the team's code, architecture, and processes.

About the Role:

  • 5+ years of experience with solving machine learning problems
  • BSc in a STEM or Linguistics subject or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working with very large data sets in an enterprise-wide application environment
  • Experience with Python and Bash
  • Experience with common machine learning libraries such as: PyTorch, Sklearn, TensorFlow, TensorRT and others
  • Experience mentoring junior and intermediate data scientists
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

About You:
