We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Electrical Techniques Instructor to join our team at Humber College. As a Professor of Electrical Techniques/Apprenticeship, you will be responsible for teaching and developing curriculum for our Electrical Techniques Post-Secondary and Electrical Apprenticeship programs.
Key Responsibilities- Teach and deliver lectures, both online and on-campus, on Electrical Theory, Code, Instrumentation, Installation, Programmable Logic Controllers, and Hydraulics.
- Develop and revise courses, labs, and curriculum to ensure they are relevant and effective.
- Assess student progress and achievement, and provide feedback to students.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement program goals and objectives.
- Participate in program promotion, student recruitment, and graduate placement.
- Develop and maintain strong industry ties and partnerships.
- Journeyperson Certification and a minimum of 8-9 years of relevant industry experience.
- Teaching experience in the electrical field, preferably in a post-secondary setting.
- Formal studies in adult or higher education, a Master Electrician, or Baccalaureate degree is an asset.
- Ability to demonstrate successful completion of a recognized Adult Education Certificate.
- Strong teaching ability, understanding of the learning process, and excellent communication skills.
- Initiative, strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
