Electrical Techniques Instructor

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching subjects in the Electrical Techniques Post-Secondary and/or the Electrical Apprenticeship program, including Electrical Theory, Code, Instrumentation, Installation Programmable Logic Controllers, and Hydraulics. Course delivery will include lecture and practical labs. The incumbent will encourage student learning and be comfortable working in a culturally diverse setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach, develop curriculum, and design/revise specific courses
  • Create an effective and innovative learning environment for students
  • Assess student progress and achievement
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and participate in committees
  • Support student advising, recruitment, and graduate placement
  • Develop and maintain strong industry ties

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have Journeyperson Certification, a minimum of 8-9 years of relevant industry experience, and teaching experience in the electrical field. Formal studies in adult or higher education, a Master Electrician, and/or Baccalaureate are also an asset. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate successful completion of a recognized Adult Education Certificate.
