Job Title: Senior Underwriter

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our team at Banque Nationale du Canada. As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a critical role in evaluating and interpreting diverse information to assess the insurability of clients applying for loan insurance and individual insurance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate complex files, including post-issue underwriting, to ensure compliance with established standards and processes.
  • Assess the insurability of clients and make informed decisions based on comprehensive knowledge of insurance and the medical field.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues through personalized correspondence and occasional phone calls.
  • Meet productivity and quality goals, while supporting less experienced colleagues through coaching and knowledge transfer.
  • Collaborate with the senior advisor as needed, providing expertise and guidance on underwriting matters.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in underwriting, with ALU exams 1 and 2 or 7 years of experience in underwriting.
  • Strong analytical, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and lead by example.
