Senior Underwriter Job Description

As a senior underwriter at Banque Nationale du Canada, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and interpreting diverse information to assess the insurability of clients applying for loan insurance and individual insurance. Your ability to effectively evaluate and interpret complex data, combined with your experience in underwriting and comprehensive knowledge of insurance and the medical field, will positively impact client and employee satisfaction and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess the insurability of clients applying for loan insurance (life, disability, and critical illness) and individual insurance (T10-T20) in accordance with established standards and processes.
  • Meet productivity and quality goals.
  • Assist the senior advisor as needed (co-signings and opinion requests, training, quality control, contact person for other departments, etc.).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects.
Requirements:
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of insurance and medical terminology.
