">The Interior Health Authority seeks an experienced Licensing Officer to protect and enhance the health, safety, and well-being of vulnerable individuals in Community Care Facilities.
">About the Role
">This term-specific full-time position until September 22, 2025 is based in Penticton. As a Licensing Officer, you will be responsible for administering the Community Care and Assisted Living Act and Regulations, ensuring the protection of vulnerable individuals in community care facilities.
">Main Responsibilities
">- ">
- Evaluate the provision of care through regular inspections of licensed care facilities, ensuring compliance with legislative outcomes.">
- Document inspection findings and communicate them to licensees/ managers, promoting collaboration and defining outcomes and timelines.">
- Investigate complaints and follow up on incident reports, ensuring safe and appropriate care that meets applicable legislation.">
- Conduct reviews of facility files to identify facilities requiring additional support, monitoring, or progressive compliance interventions.">
- Assess applications for licensed care facilities, identifying and managing risks, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.">
- Evaluate requests for exemptions from legislative standards, determining increased risk levels to health, safety, and dignity of those affected.">
- Consult and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and healthcare professionals on issues related to care provision.">
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives for licensing practice and service delivery.">
Requirements
">To be successful as a Licensing Officer, you must possess a university degree or diploma in a related discipline, along with at least two years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A valid BC Driver's License is also required.

Compensation
">The estimated salary for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
