About the Role

Coldbox Builders is a leading provider of environmentally controlled manufacturing and logistics facilities for the global food and pharmaceutical industries. We specialize in the planning, design, and construction of high-quality facilities that meet regulatory requirements and maximize energy and production efficiencies.

We are seeking a highly experienced and driven individual to join our team as a Director of Project Delivery and Execution. This key role will be responsible for leading and coordinating our project delivery and field programs and teams, ensuring excellence in project planning, management, and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide inspiring leadership to program and project teams and management.
  • Provide financial oversight and direction at the program and project level.
  • Understand and communicate key financial data and metrics.
  • Ensure accurate and timely project reporting.
  • Conduct monthly project review profit and loss (P&L) meetings to ensure that project delivery teams are held accountable for their projects consistently remaining on track.
  • Assess and develop project delivery team members.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide honest and direct feedback.
  • Effectively communicate the needs and capabilities of the project delivery team to senior management.
  • Actively lead or participate in annual business planning activities.
  • Collaborate with the sales and pre-construction teams in the development and kick-off of new projects.
  • Anticipate vendor, client, consultant, and regulator issues and avoid or mitigate escalation.
  • Provide technical assistance in various aspects of greenfield or brownfield projects, including interpreting scope requirements, contract management, issue resolution, project and site management.
  • Accurately review and approve physical completion onsite with % completion billed.
  • Provide hands-on training of project cost management to new or inexperienced team members.
  • Understand when to remain high-level and when to be hands-on project by project.
  • Identify resource and/or skill deficiencies and gaps across the team.
  • Recruit talented individuals to augment the capability and capacity of the team.

Requirements

  • A strong drive to win and capture market share as per the strategic plan and priorities.
  • Demonstrated success leading profitable projects and teams while delivering high client satisfaction.
  • 15+ years' experience in all major facets of project delivery, including technical expertise in the hands-on delivery of greenfield and brownfield construction.
  • Experience delivering multiple projects in the $2-12 MM range and several in the $12-80 MM range.
  • PMP certification is highly desirable.
